The Wait Is Over: Testnet v2 Goes Live
Launching Testnet v1 taught us something crucial: great products grow from real user insights. Thanks to the countless hours from our community, Executors, and testers, the launch of Testnet v1 was a huge success. Your feedback gave us exactly what we needed to wrap up v1 confidently and dive straight into building Testnet v2. This next iteration is a critical milestone for t3rn, setting the stage for mainnet and our upcoming TGE. In this post, we’ll break down everything that’s new and improved in Testnet v2.
Updated BRN Distribution Rules
Testnet v2 introduces a more dynamic and transparent rewards system designed to balance incentives for both users and Executors. Moving away from fixed or arbitrary payouts, rewards now scale based on transaction size and network activity, ensuring a fair and sustainable execution model.
- Users receive a base reward for transactions, providing consistent incentives.
- Larger transactions earn additional bonuses, encouraging high-value activity.
- Rewards adjust in real time according to transaction volume and demand.
Bonuses: How They Work
Rewards in Testnet V2 are influenced by two main factors: transaction size and network activity.
Larger transactions earn higher bonuses. If a transaction exceeds the network mean, the executor receives a reward that scales with its size. However, to keep incentives sustainable, bonuses are capped at 50% of the base reward.
Network demand also plays a role. When activity is high, bonuses decrease to prevent system strain and maintain consistent reward distribution. This also helps avoid excessive payouts when transaction volume drops.
Dynamic Rewards: Real-Time Adjustments Based on Network Activity
To maintain a balanced reward system, Testnet v2 dynamically adjusts transaction rewards based on real-time transaction throughput. A monthly budget of 10,000,000 BRN is set for transaction rewards. The system continuously monitors transactions and volume to estimate rewards accordingly.
- When transaction volume is lower than expected, base rewards increase to stimulate activity.
- When transaction volume is higher than expected, base rewards decrease to prevent the budget from depleting too quickly.
New Features & Updates
We’ve been updating the bridge UI with new features, including a balance page that lets you view your token holdings across all supported chains. Soon, you’ll also be able to see multiple tokens, giving you a clear, unified overview of your assets across different networks.
Our goal is to simplify the fragmented crosschain experience, making it easier to track your balances in one place. Here’s a sneak peek at the new balance page, we hope you find it useful.
The chains we are launching v2 are Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, and Unichain Sepolia.
Give it a try and let us know what you think. Join our Discord to share your feedback.

We’re refreshing the bridge UI with a new look to enhance your experience and serve as a visual reminder that you’re on Testnet v2. Alongside this update, we’re also improving key bridge features to make crosschain transactions smoother and more intuitive.
Stay tuned for upcoming releases by following us on X.

Testnet v2 Goals & Future Plans
Our primary focus is ensuring the protocol is fully prepared for mainnet. To achieve this, we need to rigorously test the upgrades implemented after Testnet v1, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently before the mainnet launch.
Driving user adoption, transaction volume, and community growth remains a key priority. Just like with Testnet v1, we see this as an opportunity to expand our community, so if you have friends who would benefit from early access, invite them to try v2 it out.
Looking ahead, we plan to integrate more chains, bringing new opportunities for users. With each integration, we’ll activate the community through Twitter Spaces, educational content, and deep dives into new and emerging ecosystems. Expect insights into new dApps and ways to engage with these networks.
If you have any questions, whether it’s setting up Testnet v2 in your wallet or anything else, check out our documentation for step-by-step guidance.
